Laura Hockridge is a 20 year veteran of the entertainment, sports and news industry. In her expansive bicoastal career, she has worked with such luminaries as Mike Wallace, Tom Brokaw, Francis Ford Coppola, Meredith Vieira, Suze Orman, and even Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne.
She joined Tennis Channel in 2003 when it was a fledgling cable network launched in only a few thousand homes. Having been a competitive junior tennis player as a teenager in her home state of New Jersey and a lifelong fan of the sport, it was her dream come true to be able to create the network’s original programming slate and work with every current and past living legend of the game. In her role as Executive Producer and Head of Original Programming, she built the department from scratch, developing and producing more than 50 travel, sports, lifestyle, news, fitness and entertainment shows on 6 continents in more than 25 countries, and helped grow the network into the leading sports and lifestyle network it is today, currently available in 50+ million homes.
Prior to Tennis Channel, Laura worked as a coordinating producer for CNBC’s flagship nightly news program Business Center, and helped launch Capital Report from Washington DC. She was also a political producer for several years for the late pundit John McLaughlin. Laura began her career at Orion Pictures, where she assisted in the licensing of their award-winning film library.
A magna cum laude graduate of Georgetown University, Laura also won a full fellowship into the University of Maryland’s master’s program to study broadcast journalism, where she wrote her master’s thesis on the function of the media in American politics.
She has a passion for environmental, human and animal rights causes. In her spare time in her home in Malibu Canyon, she enjoys writing, gardening, reading, art, yoga, classic rock, her two rescue cats, cooking, collecting wines and discovering new wineries in her travels with her husband Michael.
